Background Info…
"When Dawn Breaks, So Too, Shall You" is some title. It’s long and cumbersome, not to mention melodramatic. Even kinda emo. So why the hell did I choose it? Couple of reasons.
I’ve probably done so much research into this series that I know more esoterica surrounding it than the average fan (and, no, I’m NOT a fan, in case that hasn’t already become clear.) One such thing is the rebellion that took place when the fourth and final Twi-book, "Breaking Dawn," was released. People who were once avid Twi-hards rejected it whole-heartedly – it served as their breaking point for the series, causing them to leave behind their fandom. In response, a petition was drafted and a "don’t burn it, return it" campaign initiated.
The fact that the book was a breaking point and that it had the word "breaking" in the title was one of those happy coincidences. I decided to use that in a double entendre phrase, which describes both what happened to the fandom when SMeyer published her fourth book and what Feminists in my comic hope will happen to "SMayer" when the "Twilyte" craze loses its grip on the coming generation of literate girls.
I won’t tell you HOW they inspire me – that’s up to you to interpret.
